About this place:
Downtown Palm Springs’ skyline gets its boost from The Rowan – a multi-story hotel just off Palm Canyon Drive, hard to miss whether you’re walking from local shops or driving in from the airport. Most people enter through the main lobby, where Juniper Table lines one side and a bar anchors the other. There’s a steady flow between the lobby and the elevators, with guests heading up to their rooms or out into the city. Guest rooms stretch across the upper floors, many with balconies facing the San Jacinto Mountains. The mountain-facing rooms at the back of the hotel catch the clearest views. Some of the larger setups – like the King Premium Spa – include a full shower room with a soaking tub, not just a standard bath. Every room comes with a sound machine for white noise, which helps keep things quiet at night. The rooftop draws most visitors during the day. The pool sits right at the top, surrounded by lounge chairs and open mountain views. High Bar runs along one side of the pool deck – open to hotel guests and anyone else stopping in for a drink. For dinner, 4 Saints restaurant is up here as well, with both indoor and outdoor seating that faces the mountains. The pool deck is all hard surface, so it’s smart to keep shoes on if the sun’s been out. Downstairs, Juniper Table handles breakfast and lighter meals, and complimentary coffee is set out in the lobby every morning. Most afternoons, happy hour brings snacks and drinks – usually set up in the lobby or near the bar. The concierge desk sits just off the main entrance, handling local tips, reservations, and requests for in-room amenities like fruit trays or prosecco. The design leans modern but keeps some warmth – wood floors, clean lines, and a few nods to the desert setting. Movement through the building is straightforward: lobby to elevators, elevators up to rooms or straight to the rooftop for the pool and bars. Valet parking is available, but the location means most people end up walking to restaurants, shops, or anywhere else in the downtown core. The Rowan runs under the Kimpton flag, but the setup and layout feel rooted in Palm Springs – plenty of open air, mountain views, and easy access to the city outside.
